NET's New C.A.S. Panels by Albin
A C.A.S. panel is an access panel mounted next to every door in a starship, spacestation, and most hi-tech buildings. As the name suggests, it uses a c.a.s. (computerized analysis scanner) to monitor the atmospheric conditions on the other side of the door so people don't accidentally open up a vaccum or radiation leak. There is a card-lock cardslot for using your I.D. card as access - any card can be programmed by the local security or constabulary with a temporary or permanent access code. The panel comes with an alarm lever, alarm level indicator, intercom, speaker, door lock switch, and other features. In a related note, Oni-Senada has released their newest c.a.s. panel, the Intry1000. According the the PR Department, it is nearly identical in looks and performance with NET's top of the line c.a.s. panels, however many users have reported that it is not quite as accurate as NET's state-of-the-art technology when reporting radiation leaks and extreme atmospheric conditions. |
