Asteroid Mining Explosion by Phalanx
Athor V Asteroid Belt, Athor System - An explosion in the Athor V Asteroid Belt killed 29 workers and destroyed over 5 million credits worth of equipment. The asteriod belt is being mined under contract of GOD-Co by Yast citizens as part of an contract that was negociated towards the beginning of the year. GOD-Co released a statement saying that they will look into the cause of the explosion, but that peliminary reports point to worker error as being the cause. The workers on Yast, many of them who feel that they are underpaid, said that if the cause was worker error, then it would be because they are overworked with substandard equipment and that GOD-Co was not living up to their part of the contract. GOD-Co did not have any comment to the workers grips other than to say that they signed a standard mining contract with the government of Yast and that they are doing business as usual. |
