Blue Plague Variant Cured by Phalanx

Circe, Solar Minor System - A little know variant of the Blue Plague has been cured by researchers at the main SynthCorp lab on Circe. The variant was a faster acting form of the Blue Plague that mutated due to the radiation on Domus in the Stella System. BP Beta 9, as it is technically known, would kill the recipient within half the time as the original version, BP Alpha 1.

However, BP Beta 9 could not stay dormant nearly as long BP Alpha 1, with the symptoms normally showing up within 2-20 days for a person of good health, 1-10 days for people of poor health.

BP Beta 9 was brought back from Domus during an illegal salvage operation there. When Star Law caught up to the salvagers, 3 had already died and the others were getting extremely sick. The doctors had immediatly diagnosed them as suffering from the Blue Plague, but the plague proved resistent to standard treatments. It was at this time that SynthCorp was called in help find a cure.

Although SynthCorp worked feverishly to find a cure for BP Beta 9, only one of the salvagers survived long enough to be cured.
