Megacorp Crisis on Shang-Ti by Taliesin

Shang-Ti Moon, Kidkit, Madderly's Star System - Tensions on the KidKit moon of
Shang-Ti escalated dramatically today
into open conflict. The crisis began three days ago over a production
error in the Kraan-Works Industrial Complex between the Mega-Corps MercCo
and Galactic Task Force (GTF). The government of KidKit has refused to
become involved in the matter, and today proclaimed the moon to be a
"freezone."
The Council of Worlds has demanded the government of
KidKit force a peaceful solution, promising UPF assistance if necessary.
In a press conference today, however, UPF officials warned the
combatants that they would incur "Immediate and decisive intervention"
if the fighting approaches the civilian residential sector of Shang-Ti.
At the present time it appears that the two mega-corps are heeding that
warning, as the conflict is contained within the moon's industrial
sector, and there have been only a handful of non-corporate injuries
reported.

Insiders in the two military-based mega-corps claim that this
dispute will most likely escalate to a full-fledged corporate war, at
least from the lack of any armed conflict within the republic.
